Description
The main objective of the Instituto de la Grasa’s pilot plant service for obtaining high added value products is to provide scientific and technical support to any public or private institution that requests it for obtaining high added value products on a pilot plant scale.
– Obtaining protein concentrates and isolates, with a maximum capacity of 40 kg of raw material per batch, and protein hydrolysates, for which the plant has 2 enzymatic reactors, Batch type, with a capacity of 30 and 50 liters, thermostatized jacket, temperature and pH probe.
– Obtaining extracts from different raw materials.
– Solid-liquid separation by centrifugation in decanter and/or vertical centrifuge.
– Spray-drying by Spray-Dryer Atomizer (Production Minor, Gea Niro).
– Vacuum concentration of analytes in aqueous solution, as well as in other solvents, by means of Fisher vacuum concentrator-evaporator.
Conditions
The shipment of the samples to be processed and of the products obtained in the pilot plant would be at the customer’s expense. Likewise, the containers in which the products obtained in the pilot plant are to be received must be provided.
Prior to the request for the service, the service managers will be asked to approve the feasibility of the test, depending on the characteristics and working conditions required by the service applicant.
The Protein Pilot Plant service will be closed in July, August, December and January for maintenance.
